There are many camping tips and suggestions, but these are our favorites.. tried and tested in the field. Enjoy!
Our favorite of the camping tips: Make “camping donuts” from canned biscuits. Poke a big hole in the center of each biscuit and fry in a cast iron skillet. Dust them liberally with sugar and cinnamon and enjoy!
Waterproof Your Shoes
Keep your shoes from getting all soggy! Just rub some paraffin wax over them. Rub the beeswax over the entirety of the shoe. If you have dishwashing gloves or rubber gloves, throw those on to keep your hands clean. The beeswax washes off pretty easily though so this isn’t crucial.
Portable Camping Toilet
Create a “luggable loo” for your next camping trip by attaching a toilet seat to the top of a 5-gallon bucket. Line the bucket with a plastic garbage, add some kitty litter, and you have a great portable toilet so you don’t have to go to campground bathrooms for those late night potty runs.
Bonus Tip: Keep your camp toilet paper fresh and DRY by storing it in empty coffee cans. Some of the plastic “cans” even have a built-in handle for easy carrying to the campground outhouse or out in the woods.
Portable Handwashing Station
Create a portable hand-washing station at your campsite by repurposing a large laundry detergent dispenser (the kind with the push-button spout) and filling it with water. Put a bar of soap in a nylon stocking and tie that to the spout. Perfect for kids and adults to wash up before meals.
Mosquitos are real pests, and keeping them away is a must! These paracord bracelets can be dipped in citronella oil to keep the bugs away. Plus the handy paracord can be unraveled and used in emergency situations.
We hope you’ve enjoyed these camping tips, not get out there and have fun!
